Video conferencing and other technologies are being used right now by many mediators, especially with relatively accessible products such as Skype or Webex. These make it possible for anyone in a remote location, with reasonable Internet bandwith, to participate (through audio/video) in mediation. And, maybe in the future, telepresence technology will become more accessible, including for remote locations. (Note: telepresence which refers to a set of technologies which allow a person to feel as if they were present, to give the appearance that they were present, or to have an effect, at a location other than their true location.) There is lots of interesting things going on in the world of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) - as per http://www.odr.info/ Most definitely Scott.
